Typhoon Glenda has an international name of Kompasu. Glenda is expected to enhance the southwest monsoon and it will bring rains over parts of Luzon and in the different regions in the country. According to the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), typhoon Glenda has maintained its strength as it continued to move away from the country. PAGASA spotted tropical storm Glenda 830 kilometers northeast of Basco, Batanes. It sustained its maximum winds of 120 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 150 kph, and it was moving northwest at 19 kph. Northern and central Luzon areas will experience monsoon rains or heavy rains while the rest of the country will have mostly cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms. PAGASA did not raise any public storm signals. Typhoon Glenda is still likely to enhance the southwest monsoon that is the reason why it will bring rains over Northern and Central Luzon.
